(1941-2014) The late Albert Carron, PhD, was a professor in the School of Kinesiology at the University of Western Ontario in London, Ontario. He was a Fellow in the American Academy of Kinesiology and Physical Education, the Association for the Advancement of Applied Sport Psychology, and the Canadian Psychomotor Learning and Sport Psychology Association. He was President of the Canadian Association for Sport Sciences and a former member of the Board of Directors of the Sports Medicine Council of Canada. In 1998, Dr. Carron was a co-recipient of the International Council of Sport Science and Physical Education's Sport Science Award of the International Olympic Committee President. He was a member of the Editorial Board of Journal of Sport and Exercise Psychology, the International Journal of Sport Psychology, and Small Group Research. Dr. Carron’s research focus was on group dynamics in sport teams and exercise groups.
