David Pargman

David Pargman is emeritus professor of educational psychology at Florida State University, where he served as program leader for educational psychology and coordinator for graduate studies in sport and exercise psychology. Prior to his 31 years of service at Florida State University, he taught at Boston University and the City College of New York. Dr. Pargman received the master's degree from Teachers College, Columbia University, and a Ph.D. from New York University.
Dr. Pargman is author or co-author of six other books that deal respectively with stress and performance, fitness and wellness, and sport psychology. He has been major professor to more than 40 Ph.D. graduates and is a fellow of the American College of Sports Medicine, the Association for the Advancement of Applied Sport Psychology, and the Research Consortium of the American Alliance of Health, Physical Education, Recreation and Dance. He is also a Certified Sport Psychology Consultant for the Association for the Advancement of Applied Sport Psychology and is listed in the United States Olympic Committee Sport Psychology Registry.

Dr. Pargman has served as visiting professor at the University of Akron, Ohio, USA; Srinakharinwirot University, Bangkok, Thailand; University of San Marcos, Lima Peru; University of the Andes, Merida, Venezuela; Lund University, Lund, Sweden; and the University of Zulia, Maricaibo, Venezuela. He is currently on the Editorial Board of the Journal of Studia Kinanthropologia (Czech Republic) and the Board of Directors of the Multidisciplinary Institute of Neuropsychological Development (Cambridge, Massachusetts, USA).

Dr. Pargman was a member of his college track and cross-country team and has since competed in hundreds of road races.
