John Nauright is a professor of sport management and the director of the Academy of International Sport at George Mason University in Virginia. He is also visiting professor of sports studies at Aarhus University in Denmark. He received his Ph.D. from Queen’s University in Kingston, Ontario, and his bachelor’s and master’s degrees from the University of South Carolina. He is author and editor of numerous books in sport management and sport studies including The Political Economy of Sport; Making the Rugby World: Race, Gender, Commerce; Sport, Cultures and Identities in South Africa; and Global Sport Management (FIT, 2010). He has taught in Australia, Canada, Denmark, New Zealand, and the United Kingdom.
