Mark Eschenfelder is an associate professor of economics at Robert Morris University. He received his BS degree in economics from Southern Illinois University¡ªEdwardsville, his MA in economics from Western Illinois University, and his PhD in economics from the University of Missouri. His research focus is on economics education. He is co-director of the Annual Teaching Economics Conference and of the Center for Economic Education at Robert Morris University.

The Annual Teaching Economics Conference addresses the interests of teachers of college- level economics. Participants at the first 16 conferences represented more than 100 colleges and universities from 35 states, the District of Columbia, and Canada. The Center for Economic Education at Robert Morris University is affiliated with the National Council on Economic Education and EconomicsPennsylvania.

The Center promotes K¨C12 economic education in the local community. Eschenfelder has taught courses in the economics of professional sports and has conducted numerous workshops for K¨C12 teachers on the use of examples from the professional sports industry to teach economics. Eschenfelder is active in the Pennsylvania Economic Association and currently serves as its president.
