Esports COSMA Summit Sets Programs on Course

The first online summit of the Esports Management Series, presented by Endicott College, FiT Publishing, and COSMA was a huge success.  The series aims to educate and inform educators on the value of Esports Management in education. Discussion topics include creating an Esports class syllabus, linking with local high school students through Esports Management, finding creative revenue streams for your Esports Management program, launching career pathways for Esports Management students, and more.

Praise from attendees

“The recent Esports Management Summit, hosted by Endicott College and one of its faculty members, Dr. Dina Gentile, FiT Publishing, and the Commission on Sport Management Accreditation (COSMA) was ground-breaking. It was the first time a university partnered with a textbook company and COSMA to offer an extremely well-attended virtual meeting of sport management faculty interested in the topic of Esports. Each session was professionally presented by a variety of people in the field of Esports --  those teaching and administering coursework at high school and college/levels, those directing Esports at the collegiate level, those involved in companies that provide gaming and web development services for Esports, and those who are upper administration in the gaming industry. Dr. Gentile is one of the first professors to publish a textbook on Esports Management (2022), where she shares information from professionals in the field in combination with sport management educators. In short, this summit was time well invested for those who are interested in Esports Management. This was the first in the series on Esports Management. I can hardly wait for the next one!”

~ Dr. Darlene A Kluka, Research Associate, University of Pretoria, Board of Directors, COSMA

“I loved the presentations. They were informative and timely. Esports is a fascinating career field for students. The presenters offered enlightening knowledge on how to undertake an Esports academic program at the university level.”

~ Professor Janet Howes, University of Saint Joseph

"We are excited to partner with accredited members like Endicott College faculty to bring sport management stakeholders together to discuss relevant and timely changes in the field that keep them and their programs current and relevant."

~ Heather Alderman, Executive Director, Commission on Sport Management Accreditation
