New SMQ Executive Editor
FiT Publishing is pleased to announce the appointment of Brianna Newland, PhD, as executive editor of the Sport Marketing Quarterly. Her three-year term began on January 3, 2022.
Dr. Newland is an associate professor and academic director for Undergraduate Programs in the Tisch Institute for Global Sport at New York University. Her research interest explores active sport event tourism, with a specific focus on leveraging opportunities for the event and destination. She also conducts research in the area of sport development, examining the effects of sport delivery on sport participation across the lifespan. Dr. Newland will continue the mission and goal of the Journal to publish high-quality research that advances the study and practice of sport marketing and is relevant to the professional interests of the sport marketing community.
FiT Publishing owes a debt of gratitude to Matthew Walker, PhD, for his work as editor of the Journal since January 2019.
